Where Family Hospitality Brings an 1857 Estate to Life

Springhill Bed & Breakfast / Winery & Vineyards is where the Daugherty family’s passion for hospitality meets the rich history of an 1857 Kentucky estate. Since taking over six years ago, Jeff, June, and their daughter Mallory have worked with heart and care to create a stay that’s warm, personal, and easygoing—blending handcrafted Springhill wines with the inviting charm of a family‑run inn in historic Bloomfield, Kentucky. What started as a shared family dream has grown into a welcoming retreat where guests slow down, savor the quiet beauty of the property, and enjoy genuine conversation that often stretches late into the evening. Many visitors find themselves returning year after year, drawn to the peaceful setting, the sense of connection, and the feeling of being truly looked after. It’s a place where guests are greeted like old friends, stories flow alongside a perfectly poured glass of wine, and the spirit of Springhill continues to thrive with every stay.

Our Story

Springhill Plantation Bed & Breakfast / Winery & Vineyards is the realization of a long‑held dream for Jeff and June Daugherty, who stepped into the role of innkeepers in September 2020. Their story is rooted in service, hard work, and a deep love of welcoming others. June brings the warmth and leadership shaped by her 30‑year career with the YMCA of Greater Louisville–Bullitt County Family Branch, while Jeff contributes the craftsmanship and creativity honed through a decade of running Cornerstone Carpentry & Painting, Inc.

Together, they’ve shaped Springhill Bed & Breakfast / Winery & Vineyards into a place that feels unmistakably like home. With eight children and seven grandchildren, the Daugherty family lives hospitality every day—sharing laughter, stories, and genuine connection with everyone who walks through the door. Guests often say they feel like part of the family, and one visitor captured it best: “This is the family I didn’t know I needed!” From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed not just to a historic estate, but into the heart of a family who pours love, tradition, and joy into every stay.
